Professor Mamood Yakubu led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is on the path of delivering the most transparent election ever in the Nigerian history with it recent reforms which is set to reduce rigging in the 2023 election by 90% according to Evadoosh findings.
This was one of the major factor that played out in the just concluded Osun election which defeated the incumbent governor.
Apart from BVS technology which was another important factor, the Nigeria electoral body has gotten rid of the infamous "INCONVENIENCE FORM" controversy which allows even dead people to vote during elections.
See below the new update that many Nigerians have failed to recognize.
1. INEC, removed the most lucrative tool for riggers which was "INCIDENCE FORM".
This was one of the major tools that was been used in previous years of election including 2015, 2019 respectively.
2. What does incidence form means?
The Incidence form was used to vote in place of PVC. That is, should in any case the card reader rejects your PVC a form was given to the person to fill in details to be able to cast their votes.
These was created for emergencies purposes but unfortunately politicians abused it and this was the many reasons why most electoral materials were ceased during the polls by influential politicians and used.
3. However,in this present technology employed by the Prof. Yakubu led INEC, you can only vote if your fingerprint and face is scanned to bring out your PVC and validated with the one you have in hand.
4. Another rule is,all results must be transmitted at the polling units for transpersncy purposes.
5. And each party agent is handed over a copy of results at the polling unit after it must have been sent to INEC server and signed.
The removal of the "incidence form" has been received with mixed feelings from politicians especially those who have performed below average and are still seeking reelection.
This is unlike before so a transparent electoral process is possible Nigerians.
Please share this and let everyone get their PVC.
We must get it right.
