Pastor Faye Daniels, founder of I Reign Christian Ministries, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a High Court in Ikeja, Lagos State for rap!ng a church member.
The court presided over by Justice Rahman Oshodi also on Friday, January 26, 2024, found him guilty of s£xual assault and sentenced him to three years imprisonment. However, the sentences should be imposed concurrently.
The court also ruled that his name should be added to the sex offenders registry maintained by Lagos State.
Daniels was charged by the Lagos State government with three amended charges of assault, attempted assault and s£xual assault against church members. The pastor was accused of s£xually abusing three church members at his home in Lekki and on the premises of his church in Ikeja.
He was detained on April 17, 2023, on suspicion of r@ping two church members.
On May 29, 2023, the 23-year-old deputy priest told the Ikeja S£xual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos that Faye had assulted her twice.
Under the leadership of the Lagos State Attorney General, Mr. Babajide Boye, she told the court that she is an associate pastor of the 1 Reign Christian Ministries established by the bishop.
According to her, she came to know the bishop on May 28, 2018, when a friend of hers invited her to a church program in Akumba Akoko, Ondo State, where the bishop was serving. She said she became a member of the church and was promoted to associate pastor after a program titled "Strictly Supernatural."
She said the bishop, whom she considered her spiritual father, r@ped her on June 21, 2020 at his bishop's residence in Ikota Villa Estate, Lekki, Lagos State.
