President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on October 20th appointed Mr Shaaka Kanyitor Chira has Auditor General of the Federation.
Chira, who hails from Donga community in Taraba State, Nigeria was Born on February 12, 1968 according to Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
EDUCATION
He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Public Sector Accounting and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
He is a Fellow of the National Institute of Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA). He is a member of the Computer Forensics Institute. Nigeria - MCFI. Member of ACTI, a certified tax institute.
He is a trained AFROSAI E-Performance Auditor and has also received training on the following topics:

ChIRA'S PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1. Deputy Auditor General: Program and Performance Audit
From 2018 to 2022, he took over the management of the performance audit department, was responsible for the audit development plan, and advised directors on matters related to audit matters.
2. Deputy Auditor General: Audit Department of the Federal Capital Territory/Area Council (FCT/AC) Abuja. 2017: Appointed department manager, responsible for audit development planning and supporting general management of the department.
3. Deputy Auditor General: The 2016 National Assembly Legislative Audit Department is in charge of the headquarters branch.
4. Chief Auditor: Holds a number of positions, including the Federation's Audit Office.
His hobbies are reading, listening to the news, and farming. He is married and has children.
Mr. Chira will become the substantive Auditor General of the federation on September 7, 2022, following the resignation of Mr. Adolphus Aghughu.
