Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, used her social media account to tell Nigerians that in the event of her death, her parents would be responsible for her disappearance. Although she has not explicitly said what her parents had to do with her, it seemed like she was reacting to their post accusing her of abandonment after winning N100 million.
"If I die, I cannot be buried. My body must be given to my family to be eaten and the whole world must watch them eat me," she wrote.
This comes just 24 hours after her father, Mr. Otabor accused the BBNaija season 7 winner of abandoning her family soon after she became famous and rich.
Recall that Phyna won the grand prize of BBNaija “Level Up” edition worth N100 million in 2022. At that time, her parents thought their suffering was over, but little did they know, their challenges will not change.
Speaking to Vanguard in a new interview, Phyna's father, Felix Otabor, said; the day Phyna was announced as the winner of BBNaija Season 7, in 2022, was the last time we saw her.
He said, she disappeared and abandoned her family as soon as the award was given to her. He also said Phyna asked him to stop working as a hearse driver but did not help him when he quit, leaving him now unemployed.
“I haven’t seen my daughter Phyna since she won the BBNaija “Level Up” edition last year,” he said. Since then, she has not returned home. I do not know why ? I'm a professional hearse driver and when she won the reality TV show, she asked me to get rid of all my old cars and promised to change my life.
But since then I haven't seen her anymore. And I don't have a car anymore. Occasionally, our association's vice president will allow me to drive his private car.
“I sold four of my cars because at that time, my daughter won. I think God finally answered our prayers. I called her and she told me that God had blessed us. She asked me to throw away all my old cars, otherwise she would give them to Aboki when she returned. So instead of letting her give my cars to the garbage collector, I decided to sell them for scrap and use the money I earned to renovate my house. And that was the beginning of my suffering. I stopped doing business because I no longer have a car. And my neighbors think I'm greedy or act like my daughter just won a grand prize of 100 million naira. I am the vice president of our association, but I cannot run for office, he said
We don't know who to believe but we hope the family will resolve their differences soon.
