The multiple award winning rapper who has been offline for a couple of days broke her silence by sharing her latest photoshoot with the magazine photographed by Alberto Rodriguez.
iD magazine reported that the rap icon and ThegirlJT from the City Girls held a no-holds-barred conversation on double standards in the industry, hip-hop authenticity debates and media representation and why she does not care any longer.
She spoke about the importance of speaking up and the double standards.
“Once I realised that there’s that double standard, I decided I don’t give a shit anymore. The last part of it is that if I never rap again, I will still leave this earth as an icon.“
Minaj, also stated that her legacy was rich enough to be referred as an icon. She said;
"If I never rap again, I will still leave this earth as an icon."
She touched on black representation.
