Ortom And Ayu's Rift Continues As PDP Crisis Intensity!

Crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party has taken a new turn as two brothers, Samuel Ortom and Dr Iyorchia Ayu both from North Central, particularly BENUE state come at each other over the party's leadership position.

In The Nations report, Ortom has approached the Peoples Democratic party  (PDP) leadership,Dr Iyorchia Ayu to leave office or ask for pardon.

It is the first time the Governor of the home State of Ayu, has openly asked him to resign.

A group of Governors led by Rivers’ Governor Nyesom Wike has been calling on the PDP National Chairman to resign for a southern to take over.

They said this is the only condition under which they will support the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar.

Speaking during the Executive Council meeting in Government House Makurdi at the weekend, the Governor said:

” Ayu told the whole world that if a northern candidate emerges he will resign. So where is the honour now to continue in office?

“If you don’t want to resign beg for pardon. But it is not enough to say your tenure is four years and you won’t resign as you said it yourself “

Dr. Iyorchia Ayu,however has denied all allegations of misappropriation of party funds which was reported September and is yet to resign as the time of filling this report.
