British longest serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, has passed on at Balmoral at the age of 96, in the wake of ruling for 70years.
Before the Queens' passing, her family came together at her Scottish domain after worries developed about her wellbeing before on Thursday.
It could be noted that the Sovereign came to the high position in 1952 and saw tremendous social change.
With her demise, her oldest child Charles, the previous Prince of Wales, will lead the nation in grieving as the new King and head of state for 14 commonwealth domains.
In a proclamation, Buckingham Castle said: "The Queen passed on calmly at Balmoral this evening.
"The King and Queen Consort will stay at Balmoral tonight and will get back to London tomorrow."
Every one of the Queens' child made a trip to Balmoral, close to Aberdeen, after specialists put the her under clinical watch.
Apart from the Queens' grandson, Prince Harry who is on his way from U.S, Prince William, is likewise there, with other of his siblings.
The Queens' death is coming barely a year after she lost her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
