Our sources, learnt there's a meeting scheduled at 10pm this night during which a deputy would be picked by the governorship candidate.
It's been revealed to us that the old politicians in the state are pushing for Sam Ode ,especially those from the Tiv extraction but he is not favoured by zoning because the present deputy governor, Johnson Abounu is from the Old Otukpo.
Moreover, the new political block within the party wants the zone C to decide their Deputy governor's fate without any interference from the Tiv people.
Based on their zoning formula, Apa/Agatu is the most favoured by the present calculations. Same reason the BENUE state ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, picked John Ngbede from Agatu.
If the Idomas want to be magnanimous, they can decide to relinquish it to the Igedes but it will be based solely on their decision.
