Gov. Ortom throws shade at Catholic Priest Contesting For Governor In BENUE

Governor Samuel Ortom of BENUE state has taken indirect shots at a Governorship aspirants in the state, alleging he can't perform properly since he has no wife to remind him of governance.

The governor who was speaking at the grand finale of the Eunice Spring of life tournament in Makurdi, 12th May 2022 ,blamed bad leadership on their wives.

While high-lighting the qualities of a good wife, the governor insisted that, there was no way a leader with a good wife would fail in governance. He then, hailed the BENUE State House of Assembly Speaker/PDP governorship aspirant, Rt Hon.Titus Uba for having a wife. 

The governor said "when the husband forgets, the wife reminds him". I don't know what those without a wife are contesting election for?

This was clearly a shade to Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, a Catholic priest who doubles as the governorship candidate for the All Progressive Congress,APC.  

He continued;

When the governor forgets, the wife reminds him There is no way a governor with a good wife will fail in governance.

"Thank God Hon.Speaker (Titus Uba) has a wife". He said to a cheering crowd.

"I am wondering how those without wife are contesting to become governor . How will they do?"

His message however, was received with mixed reactions from the audience and social media users, insinuating that the governor must be referring to the first lady of the State since his the worst performing governor in Nigeria.

It is on record that, the Ortom led administration owes workers and retirees entitlements running into months and has performed abysmally.

This is not the first time the governor is throwing shots at his wife and others during his media rounds. In his previous interview, the governor expressed worries that BENUE people were only known for drinking and criticizing his performance.

Her said;

"Benue People as drunks who saturate themselves in alcohol before the day breaks and the Internally displaced(IDPs) are petty thieves lifting from my farm.

This he said about the IDPs even though, he stated that their poor condition was the reason he couldn't perform well in the "other room".

"Anytime I thinks of the  IDPs my manh00d goes flat ontop my wife", Ortom stated.
