Amber Heard has reacted to her defeat in court by her ex-husband after court ordered that she pays him for damaging his reputation over her false claims of domestic violence.
She was found guilty in all three counts of defamation trial against Johnny Depp.
Speaking on the verdict, Heard said, she felt disappointment that the mountain of evidence she provided still wasn't enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of her ex-husband,”
In her statement, Heard who appeared literally shaken when the verdict was read called the verdict a “setback” for other women, saying:
“It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”"I’m sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American — to speak freely and openly,” said Heard.
Recall, the 36-year-old alleged Mr Depp physically and sexually abused her, recounting horrifying moments in her testimony , she claimed "The Pirates Of Caribbean" Star once forcibly penetrated her with a liquor bottle.
But Depp repeatedly denied the claims.
“Never did I myself reach the point of striking Ms. Heard in any way nor have I ever struck any woman in my life,” he insisted.
Meanwhile, fans of the actor are calling for Amber to be treated same way johnny was mistreated over her false claims by stripping her of all her ambassadorial deals.
One twitter user wrote;
