List Of American Rappers Arrested In RICO Gang Related Charges As Judge Denies Young Thug and Gunna Bond

Judge Robert Wolf has denied Sergio Kitchens( aka Gunna) and Jeffery Lamar Williams popularly known as Young Thug bail in RICO Gang Related Charges on Wednesday ,May 12th 2022.

The rapper's who were arrested alongside 28 people were indicted on gang-related charges in Atlanta, United States.

Thug, (Grammy-winning) rapper who was arrested on Monday has been indicted in a record breaking 56-count gang indictment, according to CNN reports.

He was booked into the Fulton County jail and charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and participation in criminal street gang activity.

The indictment documents states that, Williams alongside 27 associates of the enterprise Young Slime Life, "conspired to associate together and with others for the common purposes of illegally obtaining money and property through a pattern of racketeering activity, conducting and participating in the enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity."

Among Thugs' alleged associates is fellow rapper Gunna, who's know for his smash hit song 'Pushing P'.
Kitchen aka Gunna was charged with conspiracy to violate RICO, according to the indictment. Though the police said he was not held in their custody.

In the indictment, prosecutors said Young Thug along with two other defendants founded the gang YSL in late 2012 and claimed to have affiliations with the national Bloods gang.

Other alleged members of the YSL enterprise are accused of violent offenses in the indictment, including murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed robbery. The alleged offenses date back as early as 2013.

On Tuesday, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said in a press briefing that removal of these 28 defendants off the street will help keep the community safe.

"It does not matter what your notoriety is, what your fame is. If you come to Fulton County, Georgia and you commit crimes and certainly if those crimes are in furtherance of a street gang then you are going to become a target and a focus of this district attorney's office,".

However, both men have suffered their first loss in court since their arrest.Thug (real name Jeffrey Williams) appeared in front of Judge Robert Wolf via video from Fulton County Jail on Wednesday (May 11) for a bond hearing relating to his fresh wave of felonies separate to the RICO case.

After hearing arguments from both the prosecution  Judge Wolf declined his bond request after declaring him a flight risk and agreeing with concerns about him committing further felonies. Judge Wolf also said he didn’t want to complicate matters in the bond hearing for Young Thug’s RICO charges, which will be presented in front of another judge at a later date.

Law enforcement officers discovered drugs and guns while executing a search warrant on the rapper’s home earlier this week, resulting in seven new charges — ranging from possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute to possession of firearm during commission of a felony.

These are in addition to Thug’s two charges in the YSL indictment, including conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and one count of participation in criminal street gang activity.

Assistant District Attorney Damian Smith had argued the Punk rapper posed “a clear risk of hindering the administration of justice given that we have not apprehended everyone on the larger indictment,” while pointing to the “large quantity of drugs and several firearms” seized at his home.

Steel, meanwhile, claimed his client didn’t pose a flight risk and was “fully cooperative during his arrest,” even while being handcuffed in front of his 14-year-old son. He also said Thug would be willing to surrender his passport and wear an ankle monitor. Ultimately, Judge Wolf sided with the State.

Gunna on the other hand suffered same fate according to 11Alive,he, too, was denied bond in connection with the RICO indictment.

Inspite of their bond been denied, both Young Thug and Gunna’s attorneys have maintained their clients’ innocence and have vowed to fight with their last blood.
