Abba Moro acquitted of all 11 charges linked to the 2014 NIS Recruitment Scam

After a prolonged 6-years trial,a court sitting in Abuja,Nigeria has declared Senator Abba Moro,Ex-permanent secretary, Anastasia Daniel-Nwobia and ex-director,Felix Alayebami innocent over the 2014 Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Recruitment which claimed lives.

It could be recalled that the senator alongside others were arraigned by the EFCC on eleven (11) counts charge which included conspiracy, Money laundering and fraud which they all pleaded not guilty.

While delivering the judgement, Justice Dimgba, said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission failed to provide materials that could lead the senator to all crimes.

The court however, found the former permanent secretary guilty of 4 count of the charge.

"Having found that she was responsible for total compliance to the Bureau of the Public procurement act and detecting that there was a in breach in the act before the was firm contracted to carry out the recruitment exercise and did not raise any issues made her culpable.

The court adjourned till 27th April for sentencing of the 2nd defendant, TVC quoted the judge.
